Amazon Alexa is a voice-recognition personal assistant that lets you do a variety of functions right from your home. It is compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems. You can conveniently order millions of items through Amazon with your voice, check your calendar, weather, traffic, sports scores, and much more.

Features

With Amazon Alexa, you can control your smart home, get news and information, make calls, send messages, read audiobooks, control your music, ask questions, set timers and alarms, and more. Just start with "Alexa" and then ask.

Additionally, Alexa offers shopping suggestions, tracks orders, and provides weather, traffic, and other real-time information. Alexa responds intelligently when you ask questions, and over time, gets smarter and better at responding to your requests.

Design

Amazon Alexa has very minimalistic design, as you control the app mostly with your voice. I would describe it as a cross between Google Now and Apple Siri.

The main screen of Alexa is very clean and minimalistic, with a simple text that you can ask Alexa to do something for you. You can then tap the microphone icon to ask Alexa to do something for you, or tap the text to see what else can you ask Alexa to do.

Usability

Amazon Alexa is very easy to use. It has a very clean interface with a button that allows Alexa listen to your voice and perform tasks. Basically, you controls the app with a single button. To my mind, this is very good usability.

Conclusion

Amazon Alexa is a very good app that allows you to control smart home devices, get information, and do other things with your voice. I would recommend this app to anyone who has at least one smart home device, but I would not recommend it to people who don't have smart home devices, as Alexa can't do much else.
