Ella Purnell Leads Star-Studded Cast in Rebel Moon Podcast Prequel "The Seneschal"

Fallout's Ella Purnell is set to lend her voice to a character in a new podcast prequel for Rebel Moon. Rebel Moon has sparked varied opinions, especially about the quality of Zack Snyder's films and his reliance on "Director's Cuts" for refinement. However, one aspect of this sci-fi universe that has consistently received praise is its intriguing premise.

Enthusiasts have shown great interest in delving deeper into the lore of Rebel Moon. While the future of the film series remains uncertain, it has been confirmed that additional Rebel Moon content will be delivered through a podcast series. This new series will expand on the universe and provide more background to the story.

Set 500 years prior to the events of the first film, the podcast series, known as The Seneschal, promises to offer a rich narrative. The story is set long before the Motherworld fought against the rebel forces on Veldt and before Issa’s rebirth. During this time, Moa and its colonies are under the harsh rule of the mad King Ulmer. Though despised by his subjects, Ulmer is determined to cling to power and revives the forgotten prophecy of Issa to pacify the populace. He commands two celebrated inventors to create an unparalleled warrior knight. This tale of creation, ambition, faith, and betrayal chronicles the journey of the first Jimmy, his creator, and the woman who brought him to life.

The Seneschal will showcase a talented cast, with Ella Purnell taking on the role of Raina. She will be joined by Naveen Andrews from Sense8 portraying Grigory, Alfred Enoch of Harry Potter fame as Adwin, Peter Serafinowicz from The Tick playing Bartholomew, and Jason Isaacs from Harry Potter as King Ulmer.

The series is set to premiere on podcast platforms on Monday, July 29, and will release new episodes weekly for a six-episode season.
