The Mystery of GTA V on Nintendo Switch Deepens with Rockstar's GTA+ Service Integration

One of the major enigmas in the gaming world over the last decade has been the absence of Grand Theft Auto V on the Nintendo Switch. Originally released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, a generation prior to the Switch, this title has been heralded as the most profitable entertainment product ever, yet it never received a port to the hybrid console. Notably, other titles in the GTA series and more recent Rockstar games like Red Dead Redemption have made their way to Nintendo's platform. This history makes the anticipation for Rockstar's upcoming trailer even more intriguing.

Recently, Tez2 unearthed on X/Twitter that Rockstar's subscription service, GTA+, will soon provide access to games on Nintendo's platform. Notably, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition and Red Dead Redemption have been spotted featuring the Switch logo on the subscription service's website. This means that subscribing to GTA+ will enable access to these titles. Currently priced at €7.99 or £6.99 after a recent price hike, the service does not offer discounted annual packages, making it a commitment that gamers must consider carefully.

The big question remains: is subscribing to GTA+ worthwhile for the opportunity to play these Rockstar classics on the Nintendo Switch?
